The Bombay High Court has awarded compensation to seven former salesmen of Bata, who were terminated in 2007 for not following a modified roster. The compensation amounts range from over ₹19 lakh to ₹33 lakh. The court ruled that the termination was without any enquiry and that Bata had not provided any evidence of misconduct.
