Rashmi Ranjan Swain has been appointed as the in-charge Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, replacing the longest-serving DGP Dilbag Singh. Swain, who is currently the special DG CID, will take over the role from November 1 while continuing his existing duties. He has previously served as the police chief of Jammu and Srinagar cities and has worked extensively in Jammu and Kashmir on central deputation.
