Amid an escalating fight over who should inaugurate the new Parliament building on Sunday, PM Narendra Modi cited the presence of his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese and the latter’s predecessor Scott Morrison at the event organised by the Indian community in Sydney this week to suggest that partisan differences should not take precedence over matters of national importance.
