Around midnight on Sunday, within a couple of hours of the violence in Delhi, a small group of Mumbai students had gathered at the Gateway of India with candles and posters expressing solidarity with JNU. By Monday evening, the gathering turned into a floating population of protesters taking turns to sing, chant and shout slogans against the rampage by masked goons on the JNU campus.
