Alleging political vendetta, Congress general secretary organisation and former in-charge of Karnataka, KC Venugopal said Shivakumar’s arrest is a “clear case of political vendetta by the fascist BJP government at the centre.” He said it the second instance, after Chidambaram, when Congress leaders are being targeted “for standing up against the horse-trading and petty politics of the BJP”. Venugopal also said the CBI and ED actions had proved that the agencies are “puppet” in the hands of the ruling BJP.
