Where the world stands on adultery

In a unanimous ruling, a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court scrapped the law making adultery a crime. Deeming section 497 of the Indian Penal Code unconstitutional and saying women aren’t the property of their husbands, the apex court delivered a victory for women’s rights.
