C K Raulji, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Godhra, said he does not know whether the convicts, released after spending more than 15 years in jail, were involved in the crime.
The LG’s action, said officials, came on the basis of a “substantiated recommendation made by the CBI” while investigating a complaint against Prakash, currently posted as special secretary in the health and family welfare department of the Delhi government.
The August 12 order also said it is impossible to believe that a 74-year-old man, who is physically disabled, can forcefully put the complainant in his lap and sexually press her breast. The complainant’s advocate, P Rajeev, said they would approach the high court against the order.

It said that it is the Delhi government which had proposed to shift the Rohingyas to a new location, and that the Centre would not agree to it. “MHA has directed the Delhi government to ensure that the Rohingya illegal foreigners will continue at the present location as MHA has already taken up the matter of their deportation with the concerned country through the ministry of external affairs (MEA),” it said.
