Rajnath Singh takes charge as defence minister

After taking charge, Rajnath Singh held a meeting with Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat, IAF chief Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa and newly appointed Navy chief Karambir Singh. The defence secretary and several other senior officials of the ministry were also present at the meeting.

Sonia Gandhi re-elected chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Party

The Congress on Saturday re-elected Sonia Gandhi as the chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP). The meeting was attended by the 52 newly-elected Lok Sabha members of the Congress along with its Rajya Sabha members at the central hall of Parliament.
