It was a pleasant day for the Congress on Monday as two of its senior MPs returned to Parliament after action was taken against both of them. Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi had lost his membership of the Lok Sabha on March 24 after being convicted in the Modi surname remark case by a Surat court. Rajni Patil was suspended from Rajya Sabha for filming the proceedings of the House. Rahul's disqualification was revoked after the Supreme Court stayed his conviction on August 4. Patil's suspension was also revoked on the recommendation of the basis of the report of the Rajya Sabha's Committee on Privileges.
